It just so happens...

That I have begun teaching preschool again after taking a two year break. My, how I have missed it. It was like an old friend coming back into my life! I loved un-packing all of my preschool treasures. Books, furniture, toys, it's awesome. I had our Preschool Open House on a Thursday night, and had a ribbon cutting ceremony!! Bizarre? Maybe. But fun. I gave my new preschoolers scissors and away we went. It really has been so exciting! I know people will say, "are you really doing okay?" and "I could never teach preschool" but for me- it's a selfish thing: I absolutely love it. Am I a perfect parent? Heavens, no. But preschool is one thing that comes easily to me and that I adore. Let the games begin...

Jordan's 1st day of 1st Grade!

Jordan began First Grade and loves it! He especially loves lunch; when I asked him how his day went, he replied, "Lunch was WONDERFUL!" Kinda fun to have him loving school and school lunch. I sure miss him, though. He's my best helper and friend!!

Only a runner...

I've been working on this post for months now; in my head. As I run. Only a runner is insane enough to get up at 2:15 in the morning to drive two hours to begin a race that lasts over 24 hours in June heat. Only a runner can understand the "runner's high" that comes after finishing such a race. Only a runner knows the meaning of "hurt so good" after such a race. Only a runner knows that the painted lines on the road are slippery when wet. Only a runner knows the terror of a dog that is not on a leash. Only a runner knows how good your laundry smells as they run by; I love downey! Only a runner knows how chafing in some areas is not so bad; especially if a thousand others feel the same way. Only a runner knows the exhaustion after a run- that you can't remove your shoes. Only a runner knows how motivating music can be and how un-humiliating it can be to sing out loud while running. Only a runner can laugh as the sun rises and hears many roosters cock-a-doodle-ee-dooing and find that funny. Only a runner knows how scary it is when someone in a car doesn't stop at the stop sign and worse; doesn't see you! Only a runner can appreciate the moon's light at 5:30 in the freakin' morning. Only a runner knows how emotional one can become when you see the finish line and better; crossing it. Only a runner... oh, I could go on and on. So here's my latest goals: Run another Half Marathon. Run another Marathon. Run somehow through the winter to go to AZ to run another Marathon.... I think I got bit by a bug...

My cool Ragnar Team Friends

That finish line I was talking about!

My new friend, Sheri- she rocks!
