Some thoughts..

If I Had My Life To Live Over
by Erma Bombeck
The following was written by the late Erma Bombeck after she found out she had a fatal disease.

If I had my life to live over, I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television - and more while watching life.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."There would have been more "I love you's".. More "I'm sorrys" ...But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it ... live it...and never give it back. - Erma Bombeck

A Plug:

For the BEST cookbook that I have ever purchased. Not that I have bought many; most were gifts from the wedding, right? But, I seriously have never enjoyed cooking anything besides cookies until this! Rusti and I attended Oh Sweet Sadie last fall, and after meeting Liz in the kitchen- she demonstrated how to make French Baquettes- now, remember, I make cookies, nothing else. Well, I ended up purchasing my copy, and a week later I noticed that I wasn't even making an effort. So, I decided to give it a go: and the result? I am a cooking maniac. I have made London Broil with mushrooms, carrot cake, carrot potato ginger soup, my own corn tortillas, baguettes, italian bread, chocolate sour cream half and half cake, Louisiana pork loin, crescent rolls, homemade apple pie, blueberry croissant french toast, Teriyaki burgers, homemade bbq pizza, and the list goes on. I tried the recipe for scalloped potatoes with ham and corn last night and LOVED it! I tell you what- try her program and just see if it works for your family- It is AWESOME!! Buy it here.

More Fun...

So, while making dinner last night; I was struggling to entertain Bobby. So I ask:
"Do you want to watch 'Diary of a Spider' DVD from the Library?"
Bobby: "Yes!"
Then running over to Jordan, Bobby says:

"Jord, do you want to watch Spider Diarrhea?"

Oh. my. goodness.

Bobby reads..

So, we've joined the fab group of mom's and kid's at Classic waterslides over the past two weeks and we love it! We went Friday with Rusti and kids; and as Bobby and I walked up the hill to the slides; Bobby "read" the sign:

Bobby: "I think that sign says, 'Please, hold on to your kid."

Me: LOL "I think you're right!"

Good times.

Blog on, Baby!

I am really missing the blogworld lately... but here's the update: I held out and now we are living in THE house in Herriman! Okay, so we are just renting it while things go through the bank.. but I am confident that things will finally fall into place for us to stay.. forever. We moved in on Friday, July 3- and it feels like HOME!! We are enjoying every minute! It seems like nothing was happening day after day of living in Lehi with my mom and dad- then it all just fell into place for us to move in... so long story short we will be praying daily for us to get under contract to buy this dream home of ours. The kids are loving it... but I must say we miss grass already! So here's my top ten about what I love about Herriman:

10- lots of young families- we'll talk later about Brookhaven- the retirement area that my parents live in
9- Splash Parks- there's two; they're free, and fun.
8- Parks everywhere- take your pick- they are on every corner
7- Trail system- love biking and running on them: last year Ryan and I ran a LOT!
6- The shopping: everything gets closer each year!
5- The Library: the kids look forward to going every week.
4- The Location- love that it is in Salt Lake valley and we are close to everything!!
3- The new reservoir with sandy beach was just completed... and is just up the hill!!
2- The Oquirrh Mountain Temple is just a few minutes away and we have great views of it from our new house.
1- GREAT people- I love all the friendships we've made here!
